Mayo, Red & Joe

This is the third instalment in 2021 of audio diaries from three young riders, Joe Laverick, Marjolein van t'Geloof and Red Walters.

We pick up with them in July, with Joe about to return to racing after injury – or so he thinks – and Marjolein, or "Mayo", beginning the second half of what turned out to be a hugely successful season, her standout performance coming at Paris-Roubaix.

Red, meanwhile, began the year racing in France and ended it as a stagiaire with Joe's team, Hagens Berman Axeon, as the first beneficiary of an initiative launched and funded by Tao Geoghegan Hart to help promote diversity in professional cycling.
