The 2020 Friends of the Podcast series

In the first special episode for 2020 Friends of The Cycling Podcast we re-live stage 19 of the 2019 Tour de France.

It was the stage that never made it to the finish: a hailstorm, ice on the road and, finally, a landslide forced its cancellation with Egan Bernal and Simon Yates off the front and Julian Alaphilippe, in the yellow jersey, slipping back.

We hear from Bernal and from Seb Piquet, the voice of Radio Tour, who was at the heart of the unprecedented decisions taken on that day.

Then we meet the youngest Tour winner in over a century, Bernal, and speak to some of those who know him best — Gianni Savio, who ‘discovered’ him, his teammate Tao Geoghegan Hart and coach Xabier Artetxe.
