My First Tour: François Thomazeau

This episode is the first in a four-part mini series in which we look back at the first edition of the Tour de France we saw, or covered.

In part one François Thomazeau recalls the first significant day of the Tour he saw on television when as a six-year-old boy he watched the 13 stage of the 1967 race. That, of course, was the day Britain's Tom Simpson collapsed on Mont Ventoux and died.

He then talks about the first Tour he covered as a journalist, in 1986, when he witnessed the clash between teammates Bernard Hinault and Greg LeMond.
