With the route of the 2020 Tour de France unveiled this week it seemed like the perfect time to relive this year’s race – or at least a version of it.

The Road Trip, a podcast in two parts, follows Richard, Lionel and François as they travel around Belgium and France in pursuit of the race. From a busy event at the Brussels Beer Project on the eve of the Tour to their final dinner together in Paris, these two episodes feature the conversations – in the car, at the dinner table, at the pressroom buffet – that don’t make it into the nightly podcasts.

Warning: these episodes do contain some cycling (as long as the 1989 Tour de France is your thing).

This is an episode of The Cycling Podcast for Friends of the Podcast.
